A red star, some watermelon seeds, and why the hell is this on a motorcycle blog?

Interestingly enough, this Bunyan Muffler Man has stood just a stones throw from my hometown for years though I've never had the chance to see him.

Yesterday we finally made the time to stop in to say, 'Hey Paul.' He is clearly well cared for, an excellent specimen.

Eve and the Serpent - Ransom Bikes
Posted By FuzzyGalore 7:10:22 AM

Last night we went to go check out a swing band that was playing a free concert in the park in Bellport. As we rode down the avenue towards the band shell, we saw these two amazing works of art parked at the curb alongside Porter’s restaurant. We doubled back and parked to get a closer look.

Made by Ransom Bikes – this bike is called 'The Serpent':

It is powered by a Suzuki GSXR 1000 power plant. It’s nasty in the best way possible. I would say hands down, this was the most interesting looking motorcycle I’ve ever seen in person. It was truly, TRULY a work of art.

This one is called 'Eve'. It is powered by a GSXR 750 motor:

We decided to get a table out on the deck of the restaurant. When we were nearly done, I saw a blonde woman in an Icon jacket strolling towards the Eve bike and put the key in the ignition. In general I’m not any more excited by seeing other women riders than I am seeing men who ride. But, I must say in this case, I was overtaken by some strange sense of pride that it was indeed a woman who was piloting one of those gorgeous machines.

I ran down off of the deck with my camera and tapped her on the shoulder asking her if I could take her picture with the bike. She was a little shy about it, so I guess out of respect for her privacy, I won’t post her picture here. She was really friendly and we chatted for a five minutes about this and her other bikes, a little about the guy who built the bike and how she got in touch with him to begin with.  I wished her well and a few short minutes later they would be on their way.

It was an awesome experience to see these closeup.

Take a look through these pages to get a better look. There are plenty of professional photos on these pages so you can see the little nuances better:
