...in men’s hearts can never be underestimated.
As a people I really believe that we love to be frightened. Just take a look at our past times and popular culture staples: horror movies, roller coasters, sensationalist news reports that keep us glued to the screen as they detail terror in the skies, threat level orange and anthrax in the mail. Do people watch Nascar for the racing or the crashes? We eat the dread up. It’s no wonder then the sick and twisted souls who travel with the carnivals of this world could thrust upon us the sheer awfulness of the ‘Bill Mahar Playing the Clarinet’ ride. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.
