I had a great day yesterday...got to show off a small selection of the Welsh Roads to a crew from Bristolshire, Londonshire & Nottinghamshire...new buddies that I met on a Brit Biker Forum. It took a few weeks to set up...but was well worth it! A great bunch of people & good riders.
Although it looked like it was threatening rain, the day stayed dry...thankfully. PHEW! In total I lead a group of 7 bikes through the twisties of Monmouthshire, Powys & Carmarthenshire...and it was much appreciated. They loved it, though as usual there were far too many cages on the roads. Pfft!
Once again I got to see how spoilt I am living where I do.

T u e s d a y , J u n e 2 4 , 2 0 0 3 Beach Brummm! Posted By yeller600 6:52:53 PM
I've been off on my travels again! All this good weather and I just can't help myself!!!! ;o)
I went for a little bimble down to the coast this evening. Stopped off at Southerndown, which was lovely! - People walking their dogs...playing frizbee and volleyball, and just by the cliffs there was a large group having a bit of a beach party! Only one other bike there...a ZX7...rider nowhere in sight...but I liked to think that maybe he/she was enjoying the beach party. He/she certainly wasn't walking the dog! Erm....no sidecar?
I took a couple of shots of my beloved CBR there....since I'd taken the trouble to give her a well needed bath before setting off...and then stopped off at Ogmore Castle to snap off a few more!
M o n d a y , J u n e 2 3 , 2 0 0 3 Downs Cafe & an unexpected 200-miler! Posted By yeller600 3:43:37 PM
I woke yesterday morning with a plan...go to the Downs Cafe for breakfast and then head off somewhere locally...maybe visit some friends on the way. The weather was niiice! As I'm climbing into my leathers my mobile does it's rendition of `The Pink Panther` and it's a text from Adrian `Anyone going for a ride today?` I text him back telling him that i'm heading for the Downs Cafe for breakfast and will be there at about 10.30am.
I arrive bang-on time. Adrian is already there and just as we've said our hellos and he tells me that Joss was right behind him, but vanished, Steve & Paul roll in on their GSX1400s. We mill around and make small talk and then get our orders in for food and drinks. Black coffee and a bacon buttie was the order of the day for me....I decided to skip the full monty this time!
There was quite a crowd gathered, even at that time, and as we milled around more members of Valley Lynx showed up. We talked about going for a ride somewhere, eventually decided on a plan...and then some of us headed out at about midday. Others had things to do and so buggered off home!
To cut a long story short...I would say we covered a good 200 miles, stopping off first just above the Crai reservoir, for a couple of photos and a nicotine break, and then at The West End Cafe in Llandovery for more refreshments. Then it was back over the Black Mountains, doubling back to Sennybridge and then home via the A48.
It was a nice ride - a nice route which was a mixture of motorway, nice fast sweepers and of course the challenge of the Black Mountains.......and a quick but not too manic pace. And of course there was the scenery.
Adrian, poor bugger, was suffering with his hayfever all day...sneezing in his helmet and hooting into his snot-rag at every opportunity, Rhian had some minor mechanical problems which needed attention and it decided to start raining as we traversed the Black Mountains. They were only brief showers, so we didn't get too soggy. All in all it was a pleasantly unexpected full days' ride.
M o n d a y , J u n e 1 6 , 2 0 0 3 My trip to NYC and Blue Man Group Posted By yeller600 9:02:57 AM
What can I say! I was just sitting here in my lunch break, musing away to myself...when my thoughts drifted back to my trip to NYC. It really was a great trip...there were so many highlights, mostly arising from just ';hanging'; with Fuzz and the fam and Cruddly. But, I suppose when people ask me what I did when I was there the event which really sticks in my mind...apart from turning a boring train ride out of the city into a VERY memorable foray into Gigglesville...was going to see Blue Man Group on Broadway!
So...while I mused away , my thoughts drifted into... '; I wonder if Blue Man Group have got a website?'; ...Lo and behold there it was www.blueman.com. As I navigated around the site I found myself reliving the whole damn thing all over again in my mind as I listened to their amazing and unique instruments on the net. I catch myself laughing out loud and grinning like a cheshire cat as the sounds tickle my eardrums, not to mention the rest of my senses! ;op
Crud has already said that it was a ';great freakin' show'; but that doesn't nearly describe how great it was...sorry Crud! ;o) Fuzz had seen the show before, and described a little of what we were about to see, but nothing could prepare me for it. To be perfectly honest, I climbed the steep staircase to where I would find my seat, with that feeling of ';Oh my God...what have I let myself in for?!';
The beginning of the show actually catches you by surprise...no big entrance...just a very subtle introduction...and then you're off into the unique world of Blue Man Group. I spent the entire 2 hours or so completely transfixed. I laughed...I cried (with laughter)...my feet were tapping...my eyes were popping out of my head....Fuzz said it would be a ';full sensual experience'; and she wasn't wrong! (Then again...she rarely is!! ;o) ) I came away from the show tingling all over and in complete awe over what I had just seen and heard!
In summary : AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGH! Gimme more!!!

S a t u r d a y , J u n e 1 4 , 2 0 0 3 A Stinking Hot Afternoon in Cardiff's Civic Centre Posted By yeller600 2:40:32 PM
Another scorcher of a day here in Wales...it MUST'VE peaked at at least 80 degrees this afternoon! Simply GOOOOOOOOORGEOUS, Darlings! Anyway...in my wisdom I decided to go for a little scoot around our Capital City. Jesus, it was busy! There must've been some sporting event on in the Millennium Stadium....hundreds of people walking around wairing flags of all nationalities,.... Stars 'n Stripes incuded! Apparently the Speedway Grand Prix is on today....Damn..I wish i'd known!
My favourite part of the City is the Civic Centre..it really is beautiful, especially on a sunny day like today,.... so I snapped off some pics of it.
